The impact of colour

Colour is another key element in building your brand and can be highly subjective. Colour has different connotations for people, influenced by their culture, personal preferences and previous interactions. Let’s take one example, the colour red; some people associate it with anger/passion or negativity/danger, while others view it as energetic/vibrant/strong. The Chinese consider red to be auspicious and it evokes joy/happiness/good fortune. The Japanese associate red with the sun and view it as symbolic of peace and prosperity for their family. In India, red is thought of as the colour of purity. While the Middle East associates it with danger/caution. Typeface adds character

A typeface is the visual display of letters/numbers, a font is the selection of weights/sizes within a typeface. Your typeface is fundamental to your brand and adds the visual personality to your literature. Careful consideration should be given to selecting your typeface to ensure it is appropriate for and appeals to your target audience. While some large organisations choose to create a typeface that is unique to them, there are literally thousands available to choose from.
